Decimate the Legion
03:38

Traitors flood my sight
As the black, starless sky shows its veins
Illuminating the horror to be,
The wait is driving me insane
I'll break their lines
If it means my meaningless life
This nightmare will be
The last thing they see
A steel cacophony sung by swords
Will break the weakened foe
Doomed will be those who run
Their armor reeks of fear
Don't look back
Your face will go black
It's your last breath
I'll break their skulls
If it means my pathetic life
This nightmare will be
The last thing they see
Decimate the traitors
My brothers
Run them back to their graves

Woes of Attrition
06:14
|
|

Slowly we march with amnesty
With a purpose not so easy to see
No way to live, our brothers die
Sun above, its fury scalds
The roots of life turn to ash
Beguiled, they hear the siren's cry
Arid waste claims the weak
The desert so bleak
The carrion crows feast
Thirst will claw and tear at the throat
Moon brings illusion of coveted hope
But not for long
The winds arise

I Wait

Twisted and jagged, rusted and mangled weapons
Battered and tortured piles of armour
Heinous and evil, horrid and cruel grimoires
Forbidden tomes are resting beneath
Over the eons, the winds have hidden heirlooms
Concealed by sands, buried below
Relics of power, engines of warfare, obscene
Statements of domain and dominance
Steel rots away
Memories in dismay
The sands take it all
Accursed artifacts of horror
Silence where echoes of war once rang
Untold acts both twisted and cruel remain in obscurity
Vile machines brought gods to their knees
But now once and forever remain underneath

Wandering the Wastes
03:58
|
|

A self-fulfilling prophecy bled upon the sands
Foretold by a presumption grounded in deceit
Modified behaviors are but the catalyst
Causing constant feedback most arduous to withstand
When cries that kill the savages are met with no remorse
But the grandest fools can expect civil discourse
So ogres come to battle the fiends that shout them down
This violent loop is an awful lot of fun
Cause and effect are coupled,
With knowledge preordained, defectively
The prophet cites circumstance to subdue his crimes
The backlash, with every corpse that rots
Drives his rancor home
Knowledge preordained defectively

…And it snaps
The noose around my neck,
Twined of realization and ruin
Reverts my mind to reality,
This mundane existence
Thrust upon a bleak gray mean,
Never to transgress again!
I have stolen breath
Suffered through pyres of decay
Torment and grief lay within my reach
Mistakenly we went as heroes
Returned to utter disdain
From those vital to our cause
So formed a band of brothers scorned
They too will grow to hate
My constant need to know why
Why?

An Aside
03:35
|
|
||
9. |
|

What are these creatures that crawl before me?
These lifeless husks of men who could be
In sight and in mind they cannot be free
Together they thrive, alone they would die
There they stood
With all the semblance of life
...but life itself
There they stood
With all the parts but the spark of life itself
No drive to succeed no will to exceed
What is this scum that poisons my eye?
Lacking the simplest will to survive
Maggots that can't actualize
Gaze into the facing mirrors
Infinite thoughtless repetition
Cyclically led to the same conclusion
There is no inception point
I see now these wretched things before me
These empty reflections of society
What little is grasped they simply repeat
So ends the cycle in utter defeat

The Disconnect
05:34
|
|
||
Disconnect within my head
Cannot tell where I have tread
Lost upon the plains of yore
Memories that I abhor
Shards of present cannot last
Juxtaposed within the past
Hallucinations of the prior
Do their best to draw my ire
Disconnect within my head
Memories permeate dread
Disconnect within my soul
Abstract hole my thoughts doth go
Scattered fragments of my mind
No longer am I defined
Adrift form I lose my way
From the being I portray
Never again to be whole
Disconnect, it rends my soul
This disconnect within has grown
From your betrayal it was sown
I thought we had our minds aligned
Without the war I'm not defined
The countless slaughters that we wrought
By will of mine your stomach knots
We are never to be separated
You will never leave my weight behind
For we are one, your fractured mind
And now as burden grinds the mare
Lanced we are by Hades' glare
